It was time for a change.
After living on Maui for the last twenty-five years, I decided it was time to return to the mainland and search for a new place to call home. But where do I want to be? Where will the road take me? A Camper and Some Change is a blog about my life discoveries as I traveled the American West in search of that new settling place.
A four-year, 65,000 mile journey traversing the America’s West, my partner and I were solo travelers on America’s back roads with the natural beauty, the wild animals and the sunrises and sunsets as our travel companions. Solitude and silence shouldered reflection and the realization that if you choose to embrace it or choose to avoid it, change is the only constant in life.
Forcing it is scary. Moving beyond what is known and expected to the unknown and unexpected is not a journey for the faint of heart. There will be bumps, wrong turns and dead-ends along the way, but ultimately you’ll be rewarded a richer road trip in life.
These are the stories of my choices, my challenges and my changes along the way.
